This paper emphasizes the film's radical departure from traditional narratives that often confine Black men to roles defined by trauma and aggression. I choose scenes that highlight Moonlight's subversion of trauma porn, offering a vision of utopian society. As well as themes of tenderness, Black boy joy and celebration of queer Black masculinity.

A screening of Janice Bravo's "Zola" is not just an exploration of wild weekend, but a cinematic reclamation of Black female subjectivity. The film, adapted from A'Ziah " Zola" King's viral Twitter thread, transforms digital storytelling into a raw unapologetically Black narrative. This paper confronts the issues of exploration, sex work and the resiliency required to survive in spaces that seek to commodify Blackness.

This paper hits close to home as it allowed me to focus on the representation of [Asian] women within two of my favorite animated mediums: film and video games. With the intention of highlighting how hyper sexualized and fetishized women are in video games comparing to how multifaceted women in [Japanese] animation with hopes to push for change regarding this narrative of womanhood.
